BORED PILES
Bored piles (or drilled piles) are cast-in-place piles available in various sizes and lengths. Soil is removed by drilling, concrete takes it’s place.

SOLDIER PILES
Steel or concrete piles are driven or drilled in at vertical intervals along a shoring. This method is used when soils are usually self supporting or when excavation in front of the wall is undertaken in stages.

O’Sullivan can also provide shotcrete and anchoring to stabilise the soil between piles.

Continuous Flight Auger (CFA) PILES
An auger is used to excavate a hole, and concrete is injected through a hollow shaft under pressure as the auger is extracted.

CFA piles are drilled and concreted in one continuous operation, allowing them to be installed much more quickly than bored piles. After casting, reinforcement is added to the wet concrete, allowing the pile to withstand a wide range of structural loads.

The finished result is a continuous wall of reinforced concrete that aids and protects workers during excavation and can also form part of a permanent shoring wall.
